This home, designed by Alces Post & Beam, sits on a long wooded ridge overlooking the Green Mountain National Forest. The planed Eastern hemlock frame is 28' x 42' and features beautiful custom cabinetry, wide white oak flooring, and a traditional plastered wall finish. On the first floor there is a kitchen, dining room with cathedral ceiling, living room, a bedroom with full bathroom, and a laundry room. A beautiful and efficient masonry heater, constructed by Turtlerock, is centrally located in the house. A mudroom connects the main house to the timber framed passageway leading to the garage. The master bedroom and bathroom, a second bedroom with adjacent full bathroom, and a sitting/reading area are located on the second floor. A spacious loft, spanning the length of the entire house, was created by joining timber floor joists into bent collar ties and flooring with 2x6 tongue and groove decking. Other timber frame aspects featured in this home are a 42' back porch, part of which is screened in, a master bedroom balcony supported by large timber brackets, and a 9' wide entry porch with a king post truss detail.
